Aerish has had the TV on from the beginning. Although, she has never been fixated on it. She will watch it for a few minutes then move around or play with toys. If music comes on, she'll dance or if there is clapping, she'll clap with it, laugh with it if the character is laughing. If the TV is on or off, she doesn't seem to care. I think as long as she can do other things while the TV is on, then should be fine. She has always love the cartoons esp upin n ipin.... he he he....and not to mention : commercials ....... walaupn iklan shampoo....
From one of the mom's statement :
Look, sometimes you just need a little break, and it's likely better for the baby that you recharge somehow. TV has only been around for what, 60-70 years? And everyone is an expert on children's "shortened attention spans" attributable to too much TV. The truth is, I haven't been able to find ONE ACTUAL study about TV's effects on children (other than those based on a TELEPHONIC SURVEY, and sorry people, but that just neither credible nor an accurate scientific measure of the subject). Also, it's quite curious that I spent countless hours in front of the television growing up and I am highly focused (even when a child) - and I grew up to be a successful lawyer (not too bad for a couch potato). TV is modern-day story telling and exposes all of us to things we would otherwise never see/know. I think moderation and common sense are key. I'll watch TV with my 7 mo-old in his activity center, entertained with his toys there - I keep the volume low and the programming baby-friendly. :)
.... and guess what... i'm totally agree.....
